THE BEST ON THE BEACH

Mike DiPierro of Pompano Beach and Cardinal Gibbons alum can certainly say that after winning back-to-back tournaments and dominating the east coast and local beach volleyball scene this past year. DiPierro and Adam Roberts of Myrtle Beach, S.C. won the Caribbean Beach Volleyball Series tournament in the Dominican Republic. Bill Chenoweth of Orlando and Matt Henderson of Tampa were runners-up. Megan Walsh and Kristen Batt of Sarasota won the women's title. DiPierro also won the Zephryhills Dig the Beach Volleyball Series with Mark Van Zwieten of Pompano Beach. It was DiPierro's fifth national title in six years. The pair, seeded fourth, knocked off Chenoweth and Henderson.
