Many of you may know me from my years at the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. I will always be indebted to Herald-Tribune Sports Editor Scott Peterson and his crew for breaking me into the journalism business. I never would have had the opportunity to become the editor of Sportsota.com without their support and guidance.

However, it was time to move on.

So, what exactly is Sportsota.com?

Sportsota.com is a sports information/news Web site that will allow you to interact with the rest of the community. Not bound by the space limitations and time constraints placed on traditional media, there are several platforms available on Sportsota.com for you to share information about the athletes and sports that you care about.

Sportsota.com is as much your site as it is the good folks at Sports News Bureau Inc.

Whether it’s a youth soccer league game or a booster club meeting, Sportsota.com allows you to report news/game scores, share photos and videos, and contribute your opinions. We place no value judgment on the activities that matter to you.

Through this blog, I will provide updates on local athletes and give my takes on the Sarasota County sports scene. We may not always agree, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
