Kelly Shiels was integral in helping Braden River get by visiting Bayshore on Tuesday night in volleyball action. Shiels totaled 23 digs in the Pirates’ 3-0 win over the Bruins by scores of 25-10, 25-18, 26-24. Rachel Hubbard helped the defense herself, adding 11 kills for the Pirates (4-1, 2-0 Class 4A-District 10). Lauren Powell added seven kills and 10 service points for Braden River.

BRADENTON CHRISTIAN 3, CITRUS PARK CHRISTIAN 0 — Anita Kiner had four kills and Kelly Moss had three in the host Panthers’ 25-5, 25-6, 25-7 victory.
Ashley Deal had 11 assists, and Savannah Smith had six aces for BCS (8-1).
