The Southeast High volleyball team defeated host Palmetto 25-21, 25-16, 25-9 on Wednesday.

For the Noles (5-3), senior middle blocker Katie DiGirolamo had 10 kills, four aces and one block, and setter Alyssa Hernandez had 23 assists and five digs. Hanna Bartges had 10 kills, six aces and two digs for Southeast, and Savannah Byl had 10 digs and two aces.

SAINT STEPHEN’S 3, ST. PETE SHORECREST 0 — Host Saint Stephen’s defeated Shorecrest 25-16, 25-10 and 25-14 in a Class 2A-District 11 matchup.

Freshman Tori Biach had nine kills, sophomore Lauren Johnson had five kills and 17 service points, and senior Morgan Johnson had eight kills and 13 services points for the Falcons (4-2, 2-1).

“The girls stayed focused throughtout the match and worked on a quick offense,” Falcons coach Nancy Cothron said.

JV: Saint Stephen’s fell 25-18, 28-26 despite the solid play of Amada Everhardus.

VENICE 3, CARDINAL MOONEY 0 — The powerful Indians handed the Cougars their first lost of the season.

Annie Montgomery had five kills and Hanna Imshaug had six digs for the Cougars (5-1).

RIVERVIEW 2, MANATEE 1 — The Hurricanes fell 21-25, 25-17, 15-13. Ashley Ogedegbe had six kills and Allyson Self added 15 assists.
