VOLLEYBALL: Rams spike St. Pete

SARASOTA - Junior Jayna Copeland had 12 kills to lead Riverview High to a three-game sweep over St. Petersburg High on Thursday night, 25-17, 25-13, 25-11.  Junior Bree Scarbrough had 12 kills and five blocks for the Lady Rams (4-9, 2-0). Juniors Sydney Suppa and Taylor Combs combined for 22 digs in the District 6A-12 match.

Riverview hosts Cardinal Mooney on Monday at 7 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL: Falcons fly past Blazers in 3

SARASOTA -- Senior Jenny Boothby tallied 26 service points to lead Saint Stephen's to a victory over host Sarasota Christian, 25-5, 25-8, 25-13.  Boothby recorded 17 consecutive service points at one point during the first game for the Lady Falcons.  Morgan Johnson had 12 kills and two aces while Melissa Johnson had 11 kills. Alyssa Allen registered four kills and three aces.  Senior Kodi Eastman chipped in with five assists while Maggie Holbert paced Saint Stephen's with a game-high 19 assists.

The Lady Falcons host Carrolwood Day on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL: BC tops Keswick Christian

BRADENTON -- Bradenton Christian beat visiting St. Petersburg Keswick Christian 25-13, 25-10, 25-12.  Maria DeKuiper (eight kills, two blocks), Abi VanOstenbridge (six kills, seven assists) and Ashley Deal (12 assists, six aces) led the Panthers to their 15th win in 16 matches. 
Bradenton Christian (15-1) hosts Lake Worth Christian at noon and Out-of-Door Academy at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

VOLLEYBALL: 'Noles cruise to victory

BRADENTON -- Southeast High rolled to an easy victory over district foe Hardee, 25-6, 25-6, 25-15.  Senior Katie DiGirolamo had seven blocks, seven kills and 10 digs to lead the way while senior Alyssa Hernandez had 17 assists and five aces.  Freshman Tori Scovill added six assists and two digs for the Lady 'Noles (8-5) while sophomore Brittane Hunter recorded six kills and three blocks.
