Berkeley volleyball topples Venice

The Berkeley Prep volleyball team beat state power Venice in three sets, 25-17, 25-23, 25-22, Saturday afternoon at the USF Sun Dome in the High School Classic game of the Tampa Twice Collegiate Volleyball Tournament.

Sophomore outside hitter Jordan Burgess led the Buccaneers with 14 kills. Senior middle hitter Lindsay Young, a Colgate recruit, added 9 kills and 4 blocks.

Buccaneers sophomore setter MacKenzie Dagostino had 22 assists and 6 blocks, while Libero Natasha Rowland led Berkeley with 17 digs.
