Indians’ Shattuck to play for Embry-Riddle

Morgan ShattuckVenice High’s Morgan Shattuck committed to play volleyball for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. The senior middle blocker earned a starting position this season. She has 30 kills, 16 blocks (15 solos) and 12 aces in eight matches.

“She is very athletic with lots of upside,” Venice coach Brian Wheatley said. “She will do very well there.

“I am very proud of Morgan’s persistence so far this season. She has been able to improve her skills year to year and now is being rewarded w a college scholarship. She will be an asset to that program.”

Shattuck is expected to make it official Nov. 7 in Daytona.

The Indians (8-1) return to action Wednesday at home against Riverview. Venice is ranked 82nd in the nation by PrepVolleyball.com
