Venice at Berkeley Premier this weekend

The Venice High volleyball team will have its latest big test this weekend in the Berkeley Premier on Friday and Saturday at Berkeley Prep in Tampa.  The Indians are in Pool B with Mercy Academy from Louisville, Ky., Gainesville Buchholz and Tampa Prep.  In pool play, Venice plays Tampa Prep at 4:40 p.m. and Buchholz at 8 p.m. Friday and Mercy Academy at 9:40 a.m. Saturday.

The top two teams in each pool advance to the four-team Gold Bracket. The third and fourth place teams in each pool move on to the Silver Bracket. The tournament play takes place Saturday morning and afternoon.

Competing in Pool A are Tallahassee Leon, Baldwin from Pittsburgh, Pa., Saint Pius X Catholic from Atlanta and host Berkeley.
