CHICAGO - The Venice High volleyball team advanced to the gold division of the prestigious Asics Challenge here Friday.
Venice won its first match against Downer's Grove South of Chicago, 25-15, 25-14. Autumn Duyn led the way with 12 kills while Jillian Allen had eight kills and three blocks.
In Venice's second match, the Indians defeated Notre Dame Academy of Kentucky, ranked No. 27 nationally, 25-19, 28-26. Duyn recorded 13 kills and 12 digs while Emily Daniels added 10 kills and 12 digs.
The Indians got solid good defense from Morgan Shattuck and Dorothy Rahal.
