Coach Julio was born and raised in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.  He has 3 beautiful children, Max (23, graduate of The University of Southern California), Chris (20, attending University of Texas), and Catie (15).  Coach Julio started his coaching career in 1988 with the Pitirres/AVG Volleyball Club in Guaynabo, PR. He served in the US Army for almost 11 yrs and went to the Gulf War.  He is a disabled veteran of the armed forces.  He played for the Army volleyball team 2 yrs.  He also played in various men's club teams when time allowed.  Coach Julio also assisted at NMSU (Div 1) and 2 5A high schools in El Paso, TX. This is his 31st year as coach in one capacity or another. Coach Julio has also worked for various federal agencies.  He currently works as an engineer for a security product manufacturer and owns his own information technology small business specializing in IT Systems and server maintenance, along with Sand Dollar VBC. He currently also coaches at Venetian Bay VBC. He currently lives in Sarasota, Florida with his life partner Brenda Krahe.
